The easy swap away from plastic at your sink

You don't have to go zero waste to make a better choice. This set gives you everything you need to wash dishes with a solid dish soap bar: the soap, a wooden dish brush and a soap dish that keeps everything dry. When your current bottle runs out, you're ready.

It's how many European kitchens have always worked: a bar of soap, a good brush, and nothing to throw away.

What's in the set

  • Lemon Solid Dish Soap (7 oz). A plant-based soap puck made with coconut and sunflower oils, glycerin, and organic lemon peel oil. Cleans everyday dishes as well as your usual liquid soap, and the lemon scent is fresh but not overpowering. No plastic bottle, no preservatives.
  • White Teakwood Dish Brush. An uncoated white teakwood handle with agave fiber bristles that soften when wet, so it's gentle on nonstick pans. Both handle and bristles are biodegradable.
  • Diatomite Soap Dish (5" x 3"). Made from diatomaceous earth, a natural mineral that absorbs water quickly. Your soap doesn't sit in a puddle, so it stays firm instead of turning to mush, and your counter stays dry.

Why the set works better than a bar on its own

Most complaints about solid dish soap come down to two things: a bar that turns soggy and a brush that gets moldy. Both are about staying dry. Rest the bar on the diatomite dish, and let the brush air-dry between uses. That's the whole secret.

How to use

  1. Wet your brush and rub it over the soap to build a lather.
  2. Wash and rinse as usual.
  3. For greasy pans: scrape off excess food first, use hot water, and re-lather as needed.
  4. To soak a dish: hold the soap under running water to fill the sink with suds.
  5. Return the soap to the dish and let the brush air-dry.

Care tips

  • Brush: air-dry after each use, and oil the handle with mineral oil now and then to keep the wood from cracking. With proper care, it lasts 1 to 6 months.
  • Soap dish: rinse and let it dry completely every 10 to 20 days. If it absorbs more slowly over time, lightly sand the top to refresh it.
